ABOUT ME

I am a BACP registered and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, and Level 1 trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, offering weekly one-to-one sessions to adults (18+) on a short-term and open-ended basis.

You might be looking for a counsellor or psychotherapist because of a specific issue or a general sense of ‘things not being quite right’. Working through your worries and identifying challenging thoughts, emotions and behaviours will help you to make a better sense of your current but also past difficulties and how these are often related. With the help of empathic exploration, gentle probing and intuitive insight my main aim is to help you to get in touch with your own inner resources, achieve a deeper understanding of yourself and explore new ways of being and relating to others.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I have been influenced by various therapeutic modalities that I use depending on client’s current needs and preferences, including Psychodynamic and Attachment Theories, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic and Existential approaches, Trauma work, Polyvagal Theory and other somatic modalities. However over the past few years my work has been increasingly influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS), which I find a powerful way of getting to know our ‘self’ fully and with its help working gently and respectfully with our most vulnerable parts and ultimately achieving a long lasting change and healing.

‘Counselling is a chance to talk to someone about parts of self that feel uncomfortable or leave us feeling sad, lonely, vulnerable, afraid or angry. Talking to a skilled therapist can help to understand the origins of those feelings, deal with them appropriately and as a result to live a life with more confidence, engagement and renewed curiosity’.
